today i take the 24 hour overnight bus ride to cusco. major concerns include dirty or non-existant bathrooms, safety of personal belongings, comfort, and boredom. also if i regain the ability to feel hunger i may be in for a tortuous wait. will be packing some food for the trip, which begins at 2pm.
yesterday was the hardest day yet, and maybe the hardest day i{ll have. lots of being shuttled around in cabs, being overcharged and ending up in the wrong place, plus a ticket on a busline i didn{t want to take. today is looking up... and no matter what, at least my tan is back!
i will check in ASAP upon my arrival in cusco! until then.

Bon Voyage ! ! !
ReplyDeleteI checked into flights to Cusco - even flying takes 24 hours.... what's with THAT ? ? ?
Where is Cusco anyway ? ? ?
I think I need to get a map..
How much food would I need on a 24 hour bus ride. Jeez, if I take a sandwich and two pieces of fruit when I leave Grammy's, I've already eaten it by the time I get off the Merritt Parkway. And that's after eating breakfast.
GOOD LUCK AND GOD SPEED
LOVE YOU !!!
Hi Hillary,
ReplyDeleteI undestand you are on a bus for 24 hours. What a wonderful experience to be able to see the country-side or what ever there is to see there. Hopefully you are taking photos. I can't wait to see them. Enjoy meeting up with Manu - that will be fun. Someone you know. Maybe you found a friend on the bus? I hope so. Can't wait to hear your next blog. Love, Grammy with help from Linda
Hillary, Grammy and I are having fun reading and blogging back to you. More tomorrow.
Love you. CC Linda
