the good news, the bad news

The good news:

we have seen AMAZING incan ruins, scattered throughout a country that might be the most beautiful place i have ever been. the mountains are huge, green or black, and sometimes capped with glaciers. manue, tom, and i escaped our tour group at every turn to climb as high as possible in the ruins. the pictures are unbelievable.

The bad news:

i must have eaten something contaminated... like XXX contaminated, nuclear waste, should have had on a fallout suit contaminated, because i have somehow contracted:
1. the parasite Entamoeba histolytica
2. ecoli
3. salmonella

i am in a clinic. it's more comfortable than hospitals in the US, but HOLY MOLY WHAT THE HELL?!?

so i feel horrible and really just want to come home. we'll see how everything pans out, i'm in here until at least tomorrow morning. and the travel insurance is refusing to cover the bill.

FML.

  2. Holy shit Hill !!! Thank you for the correo electronico. I am amazed that the hospital gave you a laptop to use and that I was able to talk to you on the phone. So, JEEZ, Did the Steri-Pen fail you or could it have been an undercooked Guinea Pig? Please stay in that hospital bed as long as they will keep you, and try to get some sleep, LOVE
